Welcome, and thank you for your interest in Lavalette United Methodist Church. We believe that we are called “to reach, save and nurture souls for Christ and empower them for His service.” This belief shapes everything we do in the church, community and world.
Lavalette is a congregation that ministers to people of all ages. We are blessed to minister to many children, youth, young adults, families and older adults. There are programs for all ages.
Our congregation formed in 1848 and the church was built in 1948. Our present facility includes an education building built in 1965, and a refurbished sanctuary completed in 1991. Recently completing a new addition of a Family Life Center which offers the community a place to gather for meals, fellowship, receptions, and sporting events.
The church is home to the Lavalette Community Food Pantry which serves the residents of Wayne County, WV.
We hope you will visit Lavalette United Methodist Church, and experience God’s love and grace through this congregation.
